Tibu Africa: Launch of projects celebrating sport for development and peace

On the occasion of the World Day of Sport for Development and Peace, decreed by the UN on the proposal of the Kingdom of Morocco, Tibu Africa has chosen to commemorate this date by lacing specific concrete projects.

In this sense, the platform for the Socio-Economic Inclusion of young people through sport was inaugurated in Ouled Azzouz in the presence of the governor of the prefecture of Nouaceur and in partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development ( INDH).

The platform aims to train young people in a NEET situation in the province of Ouled Azzouz, aged between 18 and 27, in sports professions through a program focused on the development of technical, behavioral and entrepreneurial skills.

The NGO, which uses the power of sport to design social and innovative solutions in the field of education, empowerment and socio-economic inclusion of young people and women through sport, also gave the Sending of the Boot camp as part of the Girls CAN Initiative 2022 for the benefit of girls in NEET situations with the presence of 12 African ambassadors.

Launched within the premises of the 2nd chance school – oriented sports professions in Casablanca and in the presence of the Director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training Casa-Settat and 12 African ambassadors, this program aims to aim of launching and supporting the debate on the promotion of sport as a real means of equity and empowerment of girls and women mainly from disadvantaged areas.

It directly targets 240 girls from 12 districts of the city of Casablanca. 36 future girls in sport and health will benefit from several sports training workshops and boot camps focused on sport for development and peace, sport for gender equality, sport for the promotion and empowerment of girls and sport and social innovation .

Likewise, it is part of an international framework that makes gender equity one of the 17 sustainable development goals as cited in the 2030 agenda and strategic that responds to the strategic vision of the NGO Tibu Africa, that of becoming the locomotive of development through sport in Africa by 2030 and which makes sport a real driver of change in complex environments, particularly in terms of equity and gender.

As part of these festivities, Tibu Africa announced the names of 18 young people who will benefit from the “My Sport, My Future” program in collaboration with the US State Department and the famous American fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad.

These young people will be able to benefit from tailor-made support, for a period of 5 months, to develop their project ideas and increase the social impact of their businesses based around themes related to education, health, environment, new technologies and Big Data.
