Tarik Tissoudali attracts the favor of FC Valence
Tarik Tissoudali attracts all eyes. A real goal machine, the Moroccan international caught the eye of a La Liga club which would be very interested in the services of the talent of KAA La Gantoise.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, FC Valence have started discussions with the entourage of Tarik Tissoudali. The Atlas Lion is currently in Olympic form and already has 25 goals in all competitions for AA Gent this season, also managing to qualify Morocco for the 2022 World Cup.
A move to La Liga would complete Tissoudali’s fairy tale. Until he was 21, the Moroccan international was still an amateur footballer and part-time pizza delivery man.
Indeed, Tissoudali has dreamed of the Spanish competition since childhood. With the prospect of the World Cup in Qatar, a possible European qualification could play a decisive role for Tissoudali.
Gent could contest play-off 2 for a Conference League berth in the coming weeks, but will also contest the cup final against Anderlecht next Monday with a view to a Europa League spot.
Regarding his future, the principal concerned has not yet considered leaving Gantoise, despite the interest in him. “There is interest everywhere”said the Moroccan. “At home and abroad. It is important to know what the Ghent project is. Will they build a great team or will they have to save? I want as much clarity as possible before making a decision. I think I can say in the meantime that I have become an important player for the club. I worked very hard for this, so I also want to feel the recognition that comes with being a key player. If La Gantoise finds something good, I am open to discussion. I’m waiting to see what the club will do“, concluded Tissoudali.
Arrived in January 2021 from Beerschot, Tissoudali had cost the Buffalos 750,000 euros. He has since scored 31 goals in 63 games (+13 assists) for the Vanhaezebrouck side.
