Penguins’ Sidney Crosby won’t play against Rangers with non-COVID illness

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is out of the lineup for Thursday’s game against the New York Rangers due to a non-COVID illness.
Defenceman John Marino and forward Radim Zohorna will also miss the match with non-COVID illnesses.
Crosby has a team-leading 72 points including three goals and three assists in his past five games.
Forward Filip Hallander was recalled from the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins earlier Thursday and will make his NHL debut.
The Penguins (41-20-10; 92 points) sit third in the Metropolitan Division, four points back of the Rangers for second, and enter the contest having lost two straight in a home-and-home series against the Colorado Avalanche.
