LIVE: Greats dismiss Manly’s finals hopes
Manly got their season back on track with a win over the Raiders last week, but when asked if they would make the finals this year – Brad Fittler gave a resounding no.
But why does the legendary halfback think they’ll fall short?

“Turbo (Tom Trbojevic is out), for one. I think defensively they’re not as strong as in previous years which means teams are marching up the field further,” he said.
Scans revealed he will require surgery after suffering a medial tear.
It’s not all doom and gloom. Fittler said the returning Josh Aloiai made a “big difference” to the Sea Eagles’ defence last week – which will be tested tonight against Newcastle.
“Canberra rely on just overpowering you and he made a difference, I thought. Maybe he’s their man?” Fittler said.
