Tiger Woods defied expectations for how he might perform on the first day of the Masters. The legendary golfer, making his first appearance since a near-fatal car accident in February 2021, finished one under par in the first round, impressing with his short game and putting on display some clutch shots.
Following his standout performance in the first round, he’s set himself up well heading into the second round as he hopes to make the cut in his first Masters since 2020.

Having finished under par, Woods is already in a good position to solidify a spot in the third and fourth rounds. By the time his day ended, he was tied for eighth in the standings. In 2021, golfers that were at least three over par made the cut to reach the next two days.

Woods is scheduled to begin the second round at 2022 Masters Tournament at 1:41 p.m. ET Friday. He will be paired with Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann.
How to watch 2022 Masters Round 2
Over the course of the four-day tournament, ESPN and CBS will split afternoon coverage of the Masters. Over the first two days, ESPN will have exclusive coverage of the afternoon rounds, starting at 3 p.m. ET and running until 7:30 p.m. ET.
For fans hoping to watch the morning action, they can tune into ESPN+ for the broadcast of the featured groups, starting at 9:15 a.m. ET, holes 4, 5 and 6 starting at 8:45 a.m. ET, the Amen Corner starting at 10:45 a.m. ET and the 15th and 16th holes at 11:45 a.m. ET. The only place to find coverage of all golfers in the mornings will be the stream at Masters.com.
