The meeting of the Interministerial Commission in six key points
Here are six key points from the second meeting of the Interministerial Commission responsible for monitoring supply, prices and price and quality control operations, held on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Economy and Finance:
1- The markets are supplied normally during the period from 1st Chaabane to 10th Ramadan 1443.
2- The available offer largely covers the needs for consumer products and foodstuffs.
3- A stabilization of the prices of several products during the second week of the month of Ramadan compared to those observed the first week of Ramadan, although the prices of some products have started to fall, in particular those of certain legumes and spices, oranges and tomatoes.
4- Significant increase in the price of green pepper, the national average price of which rose from 7.40 dh per kilogram to 11.60 dh per kilogram due to the increase in production inputs and the low supply due to low rainfall precipitation.
5- Observation of 3,070 violations in terms of price and quality regulations, of which 656 were the subject of formal notices from the offenders and 2,414 were sanctioned by reports sent to the competent courts.
6- Seizure and destruction of 123 tons of quantities of products that are unfit for consumption or that do not comply with the standards in force.
