Man City vs. Newcastle live score, updates, highlights & lineups from crunch Premier League clash
ETIHAD STADIUM, MANCHESTER — Manchester City face Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, knowing victory will take them three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League with three games to play.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham on Saturday, giving City the chance to open up what could prove to be a decisive advantage in a claustrophobic, relentless race for glory between England’s two leading teams.
But all eyes will be on how Pep Guardiola’s players respond from their improbable collapse during Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final at Real Madrid, where City lost 3-1 after extra-time and 6-5 on aggregate despite entering the final minute of the 90 at the Santiago Bernabeu with a two-goal cushion.
Sporting News is following the match live and providing live score updates and commentary.

Man City vs. Newcastle lineups
Expect the bedraggled back four who finished the game at the Santiago Bernabeu to resume matters for City, giving the injury Kyle Walker sustained on his return to the side. Kevin De Bruyne should at least be fit after being substituted during the second half, while Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish could refresh Guardiola’s forward line.
Man City projected starting lineup (4-3-3, left to right): Ederson (GK) — Zinchenko, Laporte, Dias, Cancelo — De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva — Sterling, Grealish, Mahrez
Jamaal Lascelles is set to replace ankle-injury victim Fabian Schar in the Newcastle line-up, while long-term absentee Kieran Trippier could be set for a place on the bench.
TEAM Y projected starting lineup (FORMATION, left to right): Dubravka (GK) — Targett, Burn, Lascelles, Krafth — Guimaraes, Shelvey, Willock — Saint-Maximin, Joelinton, Almiron
