Local authorities speak out
This Friday, June 24, some 2,000 illegal migrants from sub-Saharan Africa stormed the fence separating Nador and the occupied presidency of Melilla.
According to local authorities, the migrants used very violent methods, causing more or less serious injuries to 140 members of the security forces, 5 of whom were seriously injured. In addition, 76 migrants were injured, 13 of them seriously.
Local sources in the Nador region reported that 13 illegal immigrants who were among those injured in the assault operation in Melilla died this very Friday, following complications related to the serious injuries they suffered, carrying the death toll among migrants at 18.
The same sources categorically denied any death recorded in the ranks of the public forces.
On the same subject, the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, praised the response and the reactivity of the Moroccan police forces who seriously faced this attempt of penetration.
