Eichel, Getzlaf, Price among 2021-22 Masterton Trophy nominees
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, long-time Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf and Vegas Golden Knights star Jack Eichel are among the 32 nominees for the 2021-22 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
The Masterton Trophy is awarded to a player “who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey.” Recent winners have included Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom, former Senators forward Bobby Ryan and veteran goalie Robin Lehner.
The local chapters of the Professional Hockey Writers Association each nominate a player to represent the team in their region. The list will be narrowed down to three finalists and a winner will be announced at the NHL’s annual award ceremony after the playoffs.
