Drop in diesel prices of 0.62DH/L from this Thursday at midnight

Good news for motorists and road hauliers. One of Morocco’s major fuel distributors will lower prices this Thursday, April 14 at midnight.
For the first time in Morocco, the price of diesel exceeded that of gasoline (14.16DH/L), reaching 14.30 Dh/L. According to forecasts theoretical » of the owners of the service stations, reassembled against this situation and the refusal of the supervisory minister to receive them, a drop of 40 cents was expected in the coming days. But the drop will be more than 60 cents/L for diesel.
Indeed, according to a source MoroccoLatestNews UK within the National Federation of Owners, Traders and Managers of Service Stations in Morocco (FNPCGS), the distribution company ” Africa Gas sent a note to service stations announcing a drop of DH 0.62/L on diesel and DH 0.17/L on petrol, starting this Thursday, April 14 at midnight.
” Diesel PPM will experience a drop of -620DH/m3 i.e. – 0.62DH/litre, while SSP (super unleaded) will experience a drop of minus 170DH/m3 i.e. minus 0.17DH/L. And if Afriquia announces the drop, the other distributors will certainly follow“, explains our source.
Since the beginning of the year, Morocco has experienced a surge in fuel prices due to the rise in oil prices internationally. This increase angered citizens, but especially road hauliers who passed it on to the price of their services, increasing the price of products at the same time.
In March, oil prices had risen above the threshold of 120 dollars a barrel. An exorbitant cost and never reached before. The causes are numerous, in particular the post-covid economic recovery or the war in Ukraine. Today, the price of a barrel of oil in dollars fell to 102.88 dollars.
