Cleary offers honest appraisal in ‘ordinary’ return
Back to Campbelltown and in the wash-up from that match, Benji Marshall wasn’t impressed with a question around the Tigers’ record at the rugby league heartland.
With the Broncos winning comprehensively, it meant the Tigers have lost 10-in-a-row at Campbelltown.
Marshall was asked at the end whether they should take all their home games to Leichardt Oval.
“What do you want to do?” Marshall replied.
Prompted on the 17,000 crowd figure, Marshall went on to praise the fans despite his frustration at the questioning.
“Yeah, our fans are great. They’ve turned up here twice in a row for home games,” he said.
“But we can’t, because of the loss, say let’s go and change everything. We just need to perform better. That’s it.”
“That’s a silly question, man. Yeah, don’t ask it.”
