The UN SG next week in kyiv where he will be received by Zelensky

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will be received next Thursday in kyiv by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, his spokesman announced on Friday.
During this trip, Antonio Guterres will hold a working meeting with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the spokesperson in a note sent to correspondents.
He will also meet with UN agency staff to discuss accelerating humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, it added.
Before this visit, the SG of the UN must go to Moscow next Tuesday where he will be received by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In letters delivered on Tuesday to the permanent representations of two countries, the UN SG had asked to be received by the Russian and Ukrainian presidents with the aim of “bringing peace” to Ukraine.
According to his spokesman, Antonio Guterres wants to discuss urgent steps to bring peace to Ukraine, as well as the future of multilateralism based on the UN Charter and international law.
He noted that Ukraine and the Russian Federation are founding members of the United Nations and have always been “strong supporters” of the United Nations.
On Tuesday, Antonio Guterres called for a four-day “humanitarian pause” in Ukraine on the occasion of the celebration of Orthodox Easter, while urging the parties to the armed conflict in the Eastern European country to “open a window for dialogue and peace”.
