
The Social Agreement, “an important achievement” for the improvement of the situation of the working class

The social agreement concluded between the government, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the most representative trade union centers is an “important achievement” for the improvement of the situation of the working class, said on Saturday in Rabat , the head of government Aziz Akhannouch.
In a statement to the press following the signing of the minutes of the agreement, which covers the period 2022-2024, Mr. Akhannouch noted that this “important agreement” which includes a set of commitments, including the increase in the SMIG, will contribute to the resolution of many problems from which workers suffer and to the consolidation of the pillars of the social State.
The head of government stressed that the signing of the national charter of social dialogue comes in application of the Guidelines of King Mohammed VI, in terms of institutionalization of social dialogue, noting that this charter will contribute to the regulation of dialogue through the organization meetings between the three parties.
Despite the difficult economic situation at the national and international levels, the working class will remain among the priorities of the Executive, affirmed Aziz Akhannouch, adding that the social dialogue will be continued next May and September and whenever the occasion arises. present, with a view to improving the conditions of workers.

The minutes of the agreement covering the period 2022 and 2024 were signed by Aziz Akhannouch, the president of the CGEM, Chakib Laalj, the secretary general of the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), Miloudi Moukharik, the secretary general of the General Union of Workers of Morocco (UGTM), Naama Mayara, and the representatives of the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), Khalid Alami Houir and Bouchta Boukhalfa, and the President of the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Development rural, Mohamed Ammouri.
