the PPS calls for the construction of a new refinery

The parliamentary group of the Party for Progress and Socialism (PPS) sent a written question to the head of government, Aziz akhannouch, concerning the need to build a new (additional) refinery and settle the situation of Samir.
Rachid Hammouni, deputy of the Progress and Socialism Party (PPS) and chairman of the party’s parliamentary group in the House of Representatives, sent a written question to the head of government on the solutions envisaged to deal with the fuel price situation.
Hammoumi said in his written question that it appears that “the government is not enthusiastic about interacting with our many requests and proposals in order to restore the La Samir refinery, which plays a key role in reducing of the energy bill and the limitation of the import of high-priced products”.
The deputies of PPS call on the executive to proceed with any other innovative and appropriate mode of financing, in order to create a new refinery for the refining and storage of oil, by investing the national expertise in this field, which hundreds have accumulated employees of La Samir, who are currently in critical social conditions, and to avoid the loss of these precious experiences. And also in order to maintain the energy security of our country, and to avoid violent economic and social shocks.
As a reminder, during the Russia-Africa economic forum, organized in October 2019 in Sochi, a Moroccan company, Mya Energy, in partnership with Russian groups, announced the conclusion of an agreement for the construction of a refinery in Nador. worth two billion euros. Since then, the project has not seen the light of day.
