The Palestinian ambassador in Rabat hails Morocco’s rejection of any Israeli attempt to alter the civilizational and religious stamp of Al Quds
The Palestinian ambassador in Rabat, Jamal Choubki, highly praised the position of the Kingdom of Morocco vis-à-vis the latest Israeli aggressions in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Palestinian diplomat indicated that the Moroccan position expresses the Kingdom’s rejection of any Israeli measure capable of devoting a new situation to Al-Quds in order to alter the religious and civilizational character of the holy city.
Morocco’s denunciation of the latest Israeli aggressions against Palestinian worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and against the Palestinian people in various regions of the country is in line with the Arab-Muslim position, added the Palestinian ambassador in Rabat, stressing that the press release published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad “dotted the i’s” concerning the Moroccan position which was officially notified to the Israeli side.
Jamal Choubki also underlined the importance of the intensification of contacts by Morocco in order to put an end to the latest Israeli aggression.
The Kingdom of Morocco, whose Sovereign, King Mohammed VI, chairs the Al Quds Committee under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, has expressed its firm condemnation and its strong denunciation of the incursion of the Israeli occupation forces into the Al Aqsa mosque, the closing of its doors and the attack on unarmed worshipers inside the mosque and on its esplanades, causing a number of injuries.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad indicated that the Kingdom of Morocco considers that this flagrant aggression and this methodical provocation during the holy month of Ramadan against the sanctity of mosque and its place in the heart of the Islamic Ummah will only fuel feelings of hatred and extremism and destroy the chances of reviving the peace process in the region.
The Kingdom of Morocco calls on the United Nations and the international community to intervene urgently to put an end to these violations and attacks against the disarmed Palestinian people and their sacred values, added the same source.
On the instructions of King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, this condemnation and this denunciation were communicated directly to the head of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat, the statement concluded.
