Ukraine has suffered up to $600 billion in economic losses from Russia’s invasion, according to a study released by the Kyiv School of Economics on Tuesday.

The tally, which documents estimated losses through Monday and was collected with help from the Ukrainian government, includes $92 billion in destruction to Ukraine’s infrastructure. Hundreds of factories, medical facilities, schools, bridges, religious facilities, cars and warehouses were damaged, destroyed or seized, researchers said.

In a virtual address last month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told attendees at a World Bank event that the country had suffered about $550 billion in economic damage from the war. He said that Ukraine needed $7 billion in financial support each month and that it would need hundreds of billions of dollars to recover after the war. “The Russian troops are deliberately destroying all facilities in our country that could provide an economic basis for life,” he said.
