RAM strengthens its offer
The national company, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), announced on Tuesday that it had reinforced its flight program for the 2022 summer season to better support the resumption of travel.
“The Compagnie Nationale will thus offer 6 million seats on 80 air routes across the four continents. By restoring a large part of the air routes closed since the health crisis, and opening new routes such as Tel Aviv and Dubai, Royal Air Maroc will recover nearly 90% of its 2019 network. says RAM in a statement.
Thus, and to facilitate the movement of its customers during the summer vacation period, RAM will offer more than 2.2 million seats on the European continent which is home to several large communities of Moroccans around the world, the statement said, noting that some 437 frequencies per week will connect 9 Moroccan airports to 32 airports on the Old Continent.
In France, 890,000 seats will be offered and 400 flights (200 frequencies) will be operated per week on 28 air routes connecting 9 airports in France to 8 cities in the Kingdom. The lines connecting 8 Moroccan airports to Paris (CDG and Orly) will offer, on their own, 121 frequencies per week.
On the rest of Europe, 43 air routes will connect 22 European airports to 8 Moroccan cities for a capacity of more than 1.3 million seats. The Company will thus offer 237 frequencies per week.
The air routes where large communities of Moroccans around the world reside and which experience high demand in summer will be reinforced. The lines connecting Casablanca to Barcelona, Bologna, Malaga, Madrid, Brussels, and Milan, will switch to a double daily flight. In Africa, RAM is strengthening its network, which will increase to 25 air routes and an offer of 900,000 seats. Some 110 frequencies per week will be offered. The Company will gradually recover the network it had on the continent before the Covid-19 crisis.
In North America, the national company will offer nearly 500,000 seats, i.e. 6% more than the offer proposed in summer 2019. Some 35 weekly frequencies will be set up on the four air routes linking Casablanca to New York, Washington, Montreal and Miami. On this last stopover, closed since the start of the Covid crisis, the Company resumed its flights from the current April 10, recalls the press release.
In the Middle East, RAM will offer 200,000 seats, an increase of 25% compared to the summer 2019 offer. Also, 17 frequencies will be scheduled on the six air routes operated by the company linked to Casablanca. In addition to Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, Cairo and Tel Aviv launched last March, the company will expand its network with the opening very soon of a new air route linking Casablanca to Dubai. Furthermore, and in order to launch this program under the best conditions, RAM indicates that it will charter high-performance aircraft from internationally renowned companies, emphasizing that the use of these aircraft is made according to the criteria and the safety and comfort standards imposed by the competent authorities and by Royal Air Maroc.
As a major player in national tourism and the leading carrier of international tourists in Morocco, the National Company devotes 80% of these seats to tourist destinations, notes the press release.
“As a leading player in national tourism, Royal Air Maroc has always supported the sector, and even more so in times of crisis, by being almost the only operator to have maintained its flights to our country, despite the major operational and financial difficulties. . It was therefore essential that we mobilize again to relaunch the point-to-point lines, and by putting in place the human and material resources necessary for this recovery, “said the President and CEO of RAM, Hamid Addou, quoted in the press release.
“As a member of the oneworld Alliance, we have leveraged its extremely dense network of more than 1,000 destinations for the benefit of the tourism sector by strengthening connectivity between the main outbound markets and Moroccan destinations, and thereby accelerating recovery. We have therefore opened up new tourist routes while increasing frequencies on the most important routes”concluded Hamid Addou.
