Premiership Tiger confirms sudden retirement
Richmond has confirmed the immediate retirement of dual premiership-winning Tiger Josh Caddy after 12 seasons in the AFL.
Caddy, who was part of Richmond’s premiership sides in 2017 and 2019, will exit the game after 174 games between the Suns, Cats and Tigers.
He booted 164 goals across the three clubs.
The 29-year-old hasn’t featured for the Tigers since round 13 last year, and in recent weeks has battled a hamstring injury.

“Josh can walk away from his AFL career with his head held high and proud of what he has achieved,” said Richmond football boss Talent Blair Hartley.
“His skillset made us a better team throughout a successful time for our club and we value the connections and memories made along the way.
“We wish Josh all the best for the future, he will always be a Richmond man.”
Caddy was drafted by the Suns with the No.7 pick in the 2010 draft.
He played 24 games with the Suns before he was traded to Geelong at the end of 2012, where he featured for the Cats on 71 occasions.
Caddy then went on to play 79 games for Richmond, who he joined in 2017.
