
Partnership agreement to support Morocco’s gender equality priorities

The Ministry of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Morocco signed a partnership agreement in Rabat aimed at supporting national equality priorities gender and the fight against gender-based violence.
This agreement, which is intended to be in harmony with the objectives of the New Development Model, aims to support national priorities in the pursuit of structuring and innovative axes, initiated in terms of gender equality and the fight against gender-based violence. against women and girls in Morocco, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
It consolidates the achievements in terms of women’s human rights and the fight against gender-based violence, in particular through the contribution to the supply of quality services for the care of women and girls who are survivors of violence, the support for the socio-economic empowerment of women heads of households and the promotion of the rights of people with disabilities, specifies the ministry. The agreement will be implemented with the support of Global Affairs Canada and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the same source.
The joint work advocates key actions that strengthen the family as a lever for inclusive and sustainable development, taking into consideration digitalization and territorialization, as well as the response to the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences at different levels, notes the press release.
It reflects the commitment of the 2021-2026 government program and the new strategy of the Social Pole 2021-2026, focused on convergence, the strengthening of the service offer, the empowerment and empowerment of women, as well as the quality services.
