Nets top Cavaliers to clinch seventh seed in Eastern Conference playoffs
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-108 in the first game of the NBA play-in tournament on Tuesday to earn the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Kyrie Irving scored 34 points on 12-of-15 shooting to round out a double-double with 12 assists, and Kevin Durant added another double-double with 25 points, 11 assists and five rebounds in the win. Bruce Brown led the team on the boards with nine rebounds on top of his 18 points and eight assists.

The Nets will now take on Boston Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Celtics won the season series 3-1.
Cleveland’s Darius Garland led all scorers alongside Irving with 34 points while longtime Cavaliers veteran Kevin Love added a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Rookie of the year candidate Evan Mobley also added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
