NBA trade rumors point to Heat being ‘intrigued’ by 3 All-Stars
Around All-Star center Bam Adebayo, the Miami Heat are a lock to always be in postseason contention. He and Jimmy Butler are one of the best two-way duos in the NBA, although as Butler prepares to enter free agency in 2025, the Heat have their eyes set on other stars.
Recent reports have linked to Heat to plenty of All-Star-level talent, although those proposed trades aren’t the most realistic. Still, Miami is an attractive destination for players looking for a change of scenery, and the Heat are on the short list of landing spots for the best players in the league.
Miami has long tried to avoid a full-on rebuild, and history proves that Pat Riley will target marquee free agents or trade targets to complement his home-grown young core. Recent NBA trade rumors point to the Heat swinging for the fences in a post-Butler era.
“Going after the best of the best is always the name of the game for the Heat, which is why nobody should be surprised to see Anthony Edwards, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and De’Aaron Fox be some of the names that this organization is intrigued by,” wrote Clutch Points’ Brett Seigel on Friday. “While none of these three All-Stars will be traded this season, all of them carry question marks about their immediate futures with their respective organizations.”
Edwards and Fox are not on the trade block, but as the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves try and build a winner, failure in that endeavor could result in selling the farm.
Miami has five first-round draft picks to swap or trade, and young players like Kel’el Ware, Tyler Herro or even Jaime Jaquez Jr. could be moved for a superstar to pair with Adebayo. While a deal is not on the horizon, the Heat will always remain a possible destination amid trade reports.
