
Motorcyclist killed, passenger seriously hurt in northern Israel crash

A motorcyclist was killed and another passenger was seriously hurt in a collision at an intersection on a main highway in northern Israel on Saturday morning.
Police said the motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck at the Regba junction, near the town of the same name, on the Route 4 highway.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old man from the adjacent Arab town of Mazra’a, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
A woman in her 30s who was traveling with him was taken to Nahariya’s Galilee Medical Center in serious condition. Her identity was not immediately clear.
The driver of the pickup truck did not require medical treatment.
Police said it was investigating the circumstances of the accident.
Since the beginning of the year, 102 people have been killed on the country’s roads, according to data published by Road Safety Authority on April 14.
