more than 11.36 million cumulative cases recorded in Africa
The African continent has registered a total of 11,363,738 cumulative cases of Covid-19 until Sunday evening, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said.
The number of deaths linked to Covid-19 reached 251,5517 cases on the same date, while recoveries totaled 10,725,904 patients, specifies CDC Africa which is part of the African Union.
South Africa leads the most affected countries with a total of 3,731,247 cases since the appearance of COVID-19, CDC Africa highlights in particular.
In terms of number of cases, Southern Africa is the most affected region, followed by North Africa, East Africa and Central Africa, it said.
