Mindy Kaling stuns while promoting The Sex Lives of College Girls at Deadline’s Contender event
In a kickoff to the TV awards season, Deadline’s Contenders Television event is back in front of a live audience after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the 47 shows looking to get some more visibility at the event at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles is The Sex Lives of College Girls, which comes from the minds of creators Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble.
A slimmed-down Kaling, who also serves as a writer and executive producer for the the comedy teen drama, was on hand to promote the HBO Max series that premiered last November.
Glowing: Mindy Kaling, 42, showed off her slimmed-down figure at Deadline’s Contenders Television event at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday
Kaling, 42, stepped out on to the red carpet in a baby blue-patterned dress that fell to just below her knees and had five-button collared design.
The soft number hugged her newly slimmed-down figure just enough to showcase her weight loss without being too snug of a fit.
Matching the white collar, the design included two pockets on each side of the chest region.
The actress rounded out the fashion theme with perfectly matched white heels, and had her raven tresses styled long and flowing well past her shoulders with a part on the slight left.

In an interview this past week, Kaling confessed that she ‘didn’t really do anything differently’ during her recent weight loss journey, other than manage her portion control.
‘I eat what I like to eat. If I do any kind of restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I just eat less of it,’ The Office alum told Entertainment Tonight, adding, ‘I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but that’s the way I’ve done it.’
Kaling decided to start being more conscious of the food she eats after giving birth to her son in September 2020, which is something she didn’t do when she welcomed her daughter nearly three years earlier.
‘I had my son in the first year of the pandemic. … It was this almost extended maternity leave. I wasn’t going to be on camera, the studios were shut down,’ she recalled.
New series: The Sex Lives of College Girls premiered in November 2021
The Sex Lives of College Girls stars Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Renée Rapp and Alyah Chanelle Scott as four roommates at the the prestigious New England Essex College, according to Deadline.
Described as a bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus.
The new HBO Max series touts a diverse collection of characters, hailing from different racial, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
Back for more: The series was renewed for a second season in December
As a result, Kaling and Noble decided to hire a broad and diverse writing team that could speak to the main characters experiences.
‘We stacked our writers room with truly incredible staff that is almost entirely female – all different ages, all different walks of life,’ Noble revealed during the coming-of-age comedy’s TCA session last September.
‘They were all brilliant and so smart and funny and great and they contributed to each of these characters and such huge ways.’
The series was renewed for a second season in December.
Making her mark: Kaling first gained recognition by playing the role of Kelly Kapoor in the NBC sitcom The Office (2005-2013)
