LdC: 31st semi-final for Real Madrid at the expense of Chelsea
Real Madrid qualified for their 31st Champions League semi-final on Tuesday after their victory against English Chelsea (5-4 aggregate).
Chelsea had come back from the first leg (3-1), in regulation time and even led 3-0 thanks to goals from Mount, Rüdiger and Werner, before Madrid snatched extra time with a goal from Rodrygo.
The coup de grace will come from Karim Benzema who scored with a header (96′), sending the Los Blancos into the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of Wednesday’s meeting between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.
