How long is Kevin Durant out? Suns star to miss Team USA’s pre-Olympic game vs. Canada with calf injury

Team USA will be without one of its biggest names during its tune-up game against Canada on Wednesday night.
Kevin Durant is set to miss the Stars and Stripes’ contest with Canada, head coach Steve Kerr announced on Tuesday afternoon. The American wing suffered a calf strain in his left leg prior to the start of the USA’s official training camp on Saturday.
It’s unclear quite when Durant will return to the floor. However, his ailment is viewed as relatively minor, with his absence from last week’s training camp viewed as little more than a precaution.
Here’s what you need to know as Durant prepares for what he hopes to be a short spell on the sidelines.

How long is Kevin Durant out?
Durant will be held out of Team USA’s matchup with Team Canada on Wednesday, head coach Steve Kerr revealed to media. The decision was hardly an unsurprising one, as Durant didn’t take part in the team’s walkthrough practice on Tuesday, nor any of the team’s scrimmages throughout training camp.

Team officials revealed that Durant was experiencing soreness prior to his participation in last week’s training camp. As USA basketball’s all-time leading scorer, Durant’s contributions will be sorely needed, especially against some of the world’s best international competition.
Durant isn’t expected to miss too much time. With matchups against Australia (July 15) and Serbia (July 17) looming, he’ll hope to find his fitness sooner rather than later.
