Guard at Haifa hospital fires in the air in response to suspicious individual

Gunfire was heard at Haifa’s Rambam Health Care Campus Monday after a security guard fired his guns in the air in response to a suspicious individual, Hebrew media reports said.
According to reports, the incident took place at the medical center’s parking lot after the suspect refused to identify himself to security. He tried to run away when one of the guards fired in the air. Police officers arrived shortly after and arrested the suspect, who was unarmed. He was taken in for questioning.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was identified in media reports as a 24-year-old resident of the northern Arab village of Kafr Misr.
The incident occurred amid heightened tensions throughout the country following a wave of deadly terror attacks, further elevated by violent clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police in Jerusalem.
