German and British tourism industries choose Morocco
Associations of travel agencies and international tour operators have chosen Morocco as a destination to relaunch their post-coronavirus pandemic activity. Germany and Great Britain have announced their choice to favor Morocco for 2022 and 2023.
First announced by the association of British travel agencies and tour operators ABTA, which chose to focus on Morocco and in particular Marrakech, it was followed by DRV, which chose to organize its annual convention in two places, one in Berlin and the other in the seaside town of Taghazout.
For its annual event eagerly awaited by travel agencies who discover new destinations to add to their packages and tourist offers abroad, the association of British agencies and tour operators ABTA will organize its “The Travel Convention”. in Marrakech between October 10 and 12.
For three days, representatives of the UK tourism sector will discuss the market situation and its opportunities and then launch their forecasts for 2023. Two days of high-level discussions will be planned, as well as events to strengthen their networking and aim to better learn on the destination Morocco.
This is the first time in two years of coronavirus that the event has been held outside of the hybrid setting (online and in London). And for its first post-covid convention, the focus will be on the different tourist offers offered by the kingdom.
Following in the footsteps of the British association ABTA, it is the turn of the German tourism industry to set sail for Morocco, choosing another destination, further south, and with a different type of clientele, more attracted to the advantages of a seaside resort like Taghazout.
While a first part of its convention will be organized in Berlin, the second will take place in the Moroccan coastal city, known to be a privileged destination for surfers from all over the world.
“This year, the meeting place for the tourism industry will be split in two: for the first time, the annual conference of the association of German tour operators and agencies will not only take place in one destination stranger, but in two places”indicates DRV.
Thus, on October 13 and 14, the annual DRV conference, including the general assembly with election of the president, will take place in Berlin so that the greatest number can go there, while a part less politically oriented and more ” activities “ will be held in Morocco, in Taghazout, from December 1 to 4, with many parties.
