Expert’s key to dethroning ‘The Gypsy King’
A trio of boxing experts are tipping Tyson Fury to defend his world heavyweight title on Sunday (AEST) with Dillian Whyte’s former coach revealing the key to his former charge pulling off a major upset in front of a packed house at Wembley.
BT Sport’s Richie Woodhall, Whyte’s former trainer Mark Tibbs and Fury’s camp mate Joseph Parker all backed ‘The Gypsy King’ to outclass fellow Brit Whyte.
Woodhall predicted Fury to win on points while Parker believed he would knock Whyte out late in the fight.
Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte on Sunday April 24 will be live and ad-free only on Stan Event, and can be purchased by Stan customers for $60. Ring walks for the main event are expected no earlier than 7am AEST
Experts break down Fury-Whyte fight plan
“I think it’s going to be a frustrating night for Dillian Whyte,” Woodhall said.
“I think he’s going to try really hard and he’s going to push Fury but Fury will have all the answers.”
Tibbs, who coached Whyte between 2015-20, explained the fight plan he would deliver in a bid to upset the favourite.

“As long as he gets on the balls of his feet, not like a pretty Muhammad Ali because he’ll never be that,” Tibbs said of Whyte.
“But he can be cute and clever. As long as he’s on the balls of his feet.
“He’s got to box, he can’t keep defending. He’s got to break the levers, break and disturb levers. He’s got to get mid-range at least. If he stands off him he’ll get picked and peppered.”
Fury, meanwhile, quoted Deontay Wilder in saying that the 94,000 fans at Wembley wouldn’t be there to watch heavyweights box and move.
“They come to watch heavyweights knock the bleep bleep bleep out of each other,” Fury said.
“And that’s what we’ll be doing on the night. I think it’s the biggest boxing fight in British boxing for… I don’t remember there ever being a bigger one.
“The Tyson Fury roadshow continues and I will not disappoint. I’m going to put a show on for you all. The final curtain and I’ve got some big, big moves planned. Tune in.”
