Dragons star scolded by skipper over ‘cheap’ act
St George Illawarra captain Ben Hunt has revealed he reprimanded teammate Zac Lomax following his bizarre try celebration last week.
Lomax celebrated a Dragons try by jumping on the back of Knights backrower Tyson Frizell, who confronted the agitator and started a brawl.
“I’ve talked to Zac since then. He knows he did the wrong thing,” Hunt told 9News.

“I said to him that’s something that doesn’t belong at our club and doesn’t need to happen. He recognises that and knows he made a mistake.”
According to Hunt, acts such as Lomax’s do not have a place at the Dragons or in the NRL altogether. However, he did admit that it was out of character from his teammate.
“I guess it’s what they call a bit of a brain-snap,” he said.
“He probably just saw an old teammate and tried to rub it in a bit.”
“I just don’t think there’s a need to be trying to rub things into the opposition player in that way.

“If you want to play the game tough and tackle hard and get stuck into players that way then so be it, but I don’t think there’s a place for cheap things off the ball like that.”
Lomax, Hunt and the Dragons will be next in action on Anzac Day when they face off against the Sydney Roosters.
