Casablanca: A dangerous fire broke out in Douar Oulad Hraou
Civil protection elements under the Casablanca-Settat regional command managed to control a fire that broke out on Friday afternoon, due to the ignition of plastic waste near the “Douar Oulad Hraou”.
The fire broke out in a recycling center at the level of the district prefecture of the industrial zone of Moulay Rachid, in the economic capital.
The elements of civil protection quickly intervened to control the fire which threatened a shantytown not far from the place of the fire. It took them more than 2 hours to put out the flames.
According to the Casablanca-Settat regional civil protection command, the fire broke out at 4:05 p.m. near the “Douar Oulad Hraou”, made up of informal businesses containing plastic waste.
No victims are to be deplored, specifies the same source which adds that the civil protection deployed ten tank trucks and three ambulances to control the flames.
