Cabrera made to wait another day as Tigers vs. Rockies postponed due to weather

On Thursday it was the New York Yankees’ decision to walk him, now it’s the weather getting in the way — one of these days Miguel Cabrera will get the chance to record his 3,000th hit.
The Detroit Tigers announced that Friday’s game against the Colorado Rockies has been postponed due to inclement weather in Detroit. The good news for Cabrera is he’ll have several cracks at 3,000 on Saturday, as the Tigers will now play a doubleheader against the Rockies.
Cabrera, 39, is an 11-time All-Star, four-time batting champion, two-time MVP and Triple Crown winner, aiming to become the 33rd player with 3,000 or more hits.
Pete Rose leads the all-time hits list, with 4,256. All but two of the inactive players with 3,000 hits are in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The last player to hit the mark was Albert Pujols, who did so on May 4, 2018, while with the Dodgers.
