A significant deceleration in Q1-2022
Domestic demand would have experienced a significant deceleration in the first quarter of 2022, compared to 2021, but would have remained the main support for activity, indicates the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
Most of its growth would have been attributable to the 5.3% increase in consumption by public administrations, in line with the strengthening of operating expenses, explains the HCP, which has just published a note on the situation reporting on the situation. of the main economic indicators observed for the fourth quarter of 2021, estimated for the first quarter of 2022 and reporting the forecasts for the second quarter.
On the other hand, the growth rate of household consumption would have slowed down significantly, reaching +0.8% in Q1 2022, instead of 1.5% during the same period of the previous year.
The fall in agricultural incomes would have weighed on household spending in a context of accentuated inflationary pressures, specifies the same source, noting that productive investment would have, for its part, increased by 2.9%, in annual variation, in a context of moderation in construction investment
